The Key Is In Your Hand, Not in His Pocket

The servant lives in the house because the master allows it. The servant's stay is conditional. If the work is not done right, the door closes. The Son abides forever. His presence is not based on his performance for the day. It is based on his relationship to the Father. This change is not a suggestion. It is a shift in legal standing within the family. It is written that the servant does not abide in the house for ever, but the Son abides for ever.

You have been sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. This seal is not a wax stamp on a package that can be peeled off if you make a mistake. It is the mark of ownership. It means the Father has marked you as His. His word says that this seal is the guarantee of your inheritance. The same Spirit who bears witness with your spirit that you are a child of God is the one who holds that seal. You do not have to prove your ownership. It is already settled in the hands of the One who owns the house.

The fear of being kicked out is a lie that keeps the spirit on its toes. It keeps the body walking on tiptoes. It keeps the eyes checking the lock. But a son does not walk on tiptoes in his father's house. A son leaves his coat on the hook. A son builds a shelf in the hallway. A son puts his shoes by the door because he knows he is coming back. The anxiety is the voice of the servant who is still waiting for dismissal. The son knows that the Father's love is not a temporary arrangement. It is a permanent bond.

He has promised you a place in His household. The Holy Spirit has entered your heart to cry out, Abba, Father. This cry is not a performance you put on. It is the natural sound of a child in the presence of a loving parent. You have been accepted in the Beloved. You are not standing outside the gate. You are inside the home.

The servant asks for the key every night. The son holds the key in his hand. The right to enter and exit this house belongs to the son. The right to be in the kitchen, the living room, and the study is inherent. Boldness and access with confidence are the inheritance. There is no need to knock on the door to see if entry is allowed. The citizen is a fellow member of the household of God. The stranger has become family. This means the soul can rest in the knowledge that departure is not expected.

The Spirit Himself bears witness with your spirit that you are children of God. This is not a matter of your opinion. It is not a matter of your feelings. It is a matter of divine testimony. His word says that if you are children, then you are heirs. You are joint heirs with Christ. This inheritance is not a reward for good behavior. It is a gift given by the Father. The Holy Spirit confirms this gift in your life. You do not have to earn your place at the table. You have been invited and you have been accepted.

The Father rejoices over you with gladness. He quiets you with His love. This is not a distant affection. It is a close, personal love. He has called you by your name. You are His. You are not an anonymous worker. You are a known son. This changes everything. It changes how you move through the house. It changes how you sleep at night. You do not need to check the lock because you know who owns the house and who you are to the owner. You are staying here.
